From Lagos to Toronto!

The real ones know that I sang Toronto for years and years till it happened. Whilst in Queen Mary many moons ago now, I decided that I was going to settle in Canada for the singular reason that immigrants were accepted and assimilation was easy. It was also a really straightforward path to citizenship that seemed unshaken. It remained the same from 2010 when I started thinking about it till 2020 when the pandemic hit. *we are not talking about the pandemic*.

Anyway the pandemic complicated an otherwise straightforward immigration progress, delayed my plans to move by 2 years and all and all destabilised me. But I didn’t give up, I knew I had it with Lagos and was going to move away by every legal means possible.

Two beautiful years later, I can say that I have found my bearing. The singular fact of this is that I have picked up my pen to blog *read write* again. I have a schedule, however tedious, that works and it allows me have some time to myself to do the things I once loved.

I’ll say the best of the best update this season is that I am here and settled and thankful. Let’s all hold our breaths for the beauty I am about to experience.

Nigerian Heat Resistant Make-Up Edit.

Relocating chronicles.

I think I like it, I think I love it. I am still not completely sure.

I travelled to Lagos, Nigeria for my sisters wedding and decided to stay. It was a selfish decision that required no consultation. Yet I spoke to everyone about it, weighing pros and cons of home and home. #Nigeriaswinning became my signal of the decision I had made. Everyone here believes it's amazing and has all this great potential so I decided to stay and find out.

My thing has always been, if you meet a man with potential, run far away. What is he still doing with it, if not exploring, expanding and developing his potential??? Why then should I settle for an entire country with "potential"? What have they done with it all this while? Why aren't they developing this potential?

Anyway I moved back with the mission to explore, expand and develop this potential they all speak about. Also to enjoy my Nigeria to the fullest.

2016 be good to me!

The White Wedding!

This blogpost took the longest time to compose, not for nothing. I have tried to incorporate not only pictures but the vibe of the wedding. So enjoy!
The white wedding was everything and more... We woke up at the crack of dawn to prepare for the day, 10 bridesmaids and a bride all splattering about to look beautiful for the big day.
The first agenda was the church wedding and then the reception (main boogie). They got married in the picturesque church, Cathedral Church of Christ. It was such a beautiful day filled with joy, laughter dancing, partying, eating, travelling... breathe* it was awesometastic!
