From Lagos to Toronto!

The real ones know that I sang Toronto for years and years till it happened. Whilst in Queen Mary many moons ago now, I decided that I was going to settle in Canada for the singular reason that immigrants were accepted and assimilation was easy. It was also a really straightforward path to citizenship that seemed unshaken. It remained the same from 2010 when I started thinking about it till 2020 when the pandemic hit. *we are not talking about the pandemic*.

Anyway the pandemic complicated an otherwise straightforward immigration progress, delayed my plans to move by 2 years and all and all destabilised me. But I didn’t give up, I knew I had it with Lagos and was going to move away by every legal means possible.

Two beautiful years later, I can say that I have found my bearing. The singular fact of this is that I have picked up my pen to blog *read write* again. I have a schedule, however tedious, that works and it allows me have some time to myself to do the things I once loved.

I’ll say the best of the best update this season is that I am here and settled and thankful. Let’s all hold our breaths for the beauty I am about to experience.
